Hi, I am new to the forum but not the area of Albunol/Rab. We own a place near Huarea. We will be permanent residents next year. I am a drummer in a couple of bands in UK and want to try to get a Blues/Rock band up and running in Spain with a view to stacks of enjoyment and a few gigs around the area, not to earn a living, but a few Euros in the pocket never hurts does it?! I am looking to make contact with a lead guitarist, a bass player, a second guitarist or keyboard player and a vocalist, possible sax too. Gender not an issue but enthusiasum and commitment are (as well as your own gear). I have experience of playing venues large and small such as pubs, clubs, restuarants, golf clubs, parties, garden parties, weddings, charity events, corporate events UK & international.

I have been playing guitar off and on since I was 14years of age. I am now 62 but still interested. I have played in a couple of bands along the way, but not for some time. I have my own kit and plenty of time to practice. I have played a variety of music types but my first love has always been blues. Perhaps we could meet when you´re next in Spain. I would love a chance to be considered for first or second guitar.

Thanks for your interest. Where abouts do you live? Our place is 6 kms up Rambla de Huarea. I am 52 and don't see age as any barrier at all to making good music. One of the guitarists I play with in UK is only 19!! Yes, lets meet. We are in Spain from 29/03 - 09/03. However, I have meetings etc until 01/03/08, but after that we can meet. Hi Brian, I was hoping to meet up with you whilst in Spain over the last 10 days. However, you know what it is like regarding getting things done??!! When we arrived we had no electric as the electrician had messed up our solar. That took me 5 days to sort out. Then, we had no water for the remaining 5 days. This menat going up and down to the local spring to fill containers!!!

Anyway, where abouts do you live? We have a place about 6 kms up a rambla near La Rabita, you know...no phone lines, no mobil signal, no water, but electric restored!!!! We are across again for 8 days in July and, depending where you live, perhaps we could meet. I have also had an email from a Spanish (bi lingual) girl from Salobrena who is a blues/jazz vocalist who has also expressed interest in my initial entry onto the forum.

Hi I've only just found this forum as I was searching for musicians and gigs in the costa tropical area. I'm a singer/rhythm guitarist (female) performing rock/blues covers. I am currently teamed up with a bass player (who also plays guitar). We have gigged a couple of times but currently have no drummer or lead guitarist. I have my own PA system and equipment and we're very keen to get more gigs as soon as possible. We're working on a set as a duet whilst we struggle to find our two extra band members. If you're still looking for band members or if anyone reading this is interested I'd be very keen to talk.

We are living and practicing in the Alpujarras (about an hour and a half from La Rabita). But we're also looking to gig on the coast if possible or wherever the gigs are as soon as the band line up is complete and ready to go.
