looking around the the itrabo area 1 Year, 6 Months ago
we are looking over the next few years to relocate to spain and itrabo has taken our fancy, we both love the idea of skiing in the siera nevada mountains then going home to near the coast in a fairly quiet area, any thoughts or help

Hey pip100,
Can,t say I am well up on Itrabo. I guess you have checked out the info on this site? I am sure as with us you have researched the area well. The only advice I can give is visit, visit and visit again, maybe rent a place on a long term let for a while before commiting fully. Make sure you visit at different times of the year so you can be aware of all weather conditions as they can vary more inland than on the coast. The Alpujarra region generally is such an awe inspiring place, climate, people, habitat and scenery are all wonderful. I wish you well in your search and would be most interested to hear how you get on.

Much love

You can be further away than you think. The roads are so good and for the most part empty, we are moving to the campo, part way between Murtas & Cadiar, which is a fair distance, but I can be on the beach in 20/25 mins down to La Rabita.

Not at all, I would imagine the climate is similar to ours although we are possibly a bit higher up? The nearer the coast, the more even the temperature tends to be, as you go higher it seems hotter in summer but colder in winter as a rule of thumb. My point was that it is much easier to get around, ie the same distance from the coast in England would probably take twice as long due to shoddy roads and heavy traffic!
