Almuñécar celebrates European month dedicated to youth
Wednesday, 05 November 2008

November 2008 is the first time that the European month dedicated to youth will be celebrated and apparently Almuñécar will be hosting a number of events (mostly in the Casa de la Juventud) to commemorate this special event.

youth2.jpgCouncilor Daniel Barbero explained that bearing in mind the current economic crisis, the Town Hall has limited the budget to 3000 Euros, but has focused on areas that they hope will maximise the resources available and appeal to local youth. Unsurprisingly, multimedia and internet courses are being laid on, together wih films, workshops on the environment (particularly focused on the subaquatic life which is so vital to the Costa Tropical), as well as art and sport offerings. Everything should culminate in a huge party programmed for the 28th November.

A range of conferences

The themes that will be presented and discussed with local youth, include "United Youth" (planned for the 7th November) and "A study on the orange coral on the Granadian Coast", developed by the Asociación Hombre y Territorio de Sevilla. Each presentation will start at 7pm.

You can contact the Casa de la Juventud (located in the old town of Almuñécar as you head down to the beach) for further details on the programme.
